From December 2014 to January 2015, I went with a group of students from my university on what would end up being one of the best decisions of my life. It took my love for traveling from a 10/10 to something like 100/10. We started out in Santiago, Chile, a gorgeous, modern city with the friendliest people in the world. We spent the next few days in Valparaiso and Viña del Mar by the Pacific Ocean. We spent New Year’s there, where they have one of the most famous fireworks shows in the world, and also some of the craziest clubs comparable to those in Rio. A bike ride down the Pacific coast was one of the most beautiful things I have ever done, even though half of us got too sunburnt to move. (Not me though, perks of being dark-skinned).
The trip also included horseback riding through the Andes Mountains, and walking around the beautiful and historic city of Buenos Aires. We spent the final few days in the crazy, crazy, absurdly crazy city of Rio. It was an incredibly beautiful city, which made the 100 degree days of walking miles and miles worth it. The clubs were insane, and the caipirinhas were legendary. I highly encourage making the journey out there and having an incredible time.
